DAY 1 of Puerto Rico!
We had a great day today visiting Old San Juan with Titi Sarah, Tio July, Astrid and Manuel! It was so beautiful! We went to the Fort (el morro) The Spanish built it in the colonial times to protect the island and they used it in war! The girls and I tried our first Limber and we ate at a great spanish restaurant! We rolled down the hills and flew kites too! We're off to a great start and are looking foward to the days to come!

This was A devotion that I did that really spoke to me! I hope it does to you to!!!
WHERE WILL YOU SPEND ETERNITY?
In our homes, we use smoke detectors to warn us of fire. Our car's dashboard has lights to indicate a malfunction. We'd be foolish to ignore these warnings. Similarly, we need to pay close attentions to the scriptures that warn us about the terrible consequences for rejecting God's provision of a Savior.
The Bible tells us how to be reconciled to God so we can spend eternity with Him. We need to understand and accept that...
SIN SEPARATES US FROM GOD(Romans 3:23;Col:1:19-22).
Because of Adam and Eve's rebellion, we all are born with a nature bent away from the Lord. His justice requires that we pay for our transgressions.
GOD SENT HIS SON JESUS TO MAKE THAT PAYMENT FOR US(1 Cor 15:3)
Only the death of one who was perfect would satisfy the Father's righteous judment. Jesus lived a life without sin, which qualified him to become our substitute. He willingly took our place and died in order to pay our penalty. God accepted his death in place of ours and declared us righteous in his sight(Rom 3:22)
SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT, RECEIVED THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS (Eph 2:8-9)
Our good works will neither satisfy divine justice nor pay for our transgressions. They are not what God requires for forgiveness or adoption into His family. Faith in Jesus is the only way to God (John 14:6). When we accept Christ as our Savior and Lord, heaven becomes our eternal destination.
God wants you to live forever with Him. If you haven't yet made your eternal destination certain, you should do so now!
This devotion has really been on my heart lately and today's message at church was all about heaven and why we are here! Our pastor was showing us in the bible many places where it says that we are only here for a short time and if we would only realize that, how much easier would it be to overcome trials and worries of this world. I thank God that I have a relationship with him and know where I'm going and I hope that all of you do too! If not, he is only a prayer away!!!

Last night we had our church's annual Women's Christmas Dinner at the Smithville Inn. The message was about hope for the coming year and one phrase that stuck with me is "We don't know what tomorrow holds, but we know who holds tomorrow" That definetly gives me hope for the trials that are sure to come! Here are some pictures of last night!

We went to our friend's house for Thanksgiving dinner @ lunchtime and then drove down to D.C. to be with Yusef. We went to the Smithsonian Zoo which the girls loved, our favorite sushi restraunt and went bowling. The zoo was free except for parking and bowling was $1.00 per game for military, so we had a great time and it wasn't too expensive! We started coming home on Sunday and were stuck in traffic going 5mph for 30 minutes, so we drove back to the base and stayed until yesterday! Ariana took the pictures from the zoo! The first picture is of Yusef's helicopter in the hanger inside of the Reagan Airport! Enjoy!
